Blockchain Traceability Platform V2 Goes Live: Tamper-Proof Logging
Blockchain Traceability Platform V2 Goes Live: Tamper-Proof Logging Now Available
QS DEFENDER has released V2 of its blockchain-backed traceability platform. The headline change is an append-only, tamper-proof log: every verification event, custody transfer, and status change is written to a ledger that cannot be quietly edited after the fact. For brand owners, that means a product's record of origin and movement is no longer just a database entry someone can overwrite — it is an auditable chain.
What Is New in V2
Tamper-proof logging
Each event is hashed and chained to the previous one. Altering a past record would break the chain and be immediately detectable, so the history holds up under audit and in disputes.
Multi-node consensus
Records are confirmed across independent nodes rather than stored in a single place, removing the single point of failure and the single party who could silently change data.
Open APIs and QR/NFC links
The ledger connects to the physical label: a serialized QR or NFC tap writes its scan to the same log, so a unit's digital identity and its physical scan history share one source of truth.
How the Tamper-Proof Log Works
When a unit is produced, its unique code is registered on the platform. Each later event — factory hand-off, customs clearance, distributor receipt, consumer scan — is appended as a new block carrying a fingerprint of the previous block. Because every block references the one before it, rewriting history would require regenerating the entire chain undetected, which the consensus design prevents. The result is a record that is both machine-verifiable and legible to auditors.
Who Benefits
| Industry | Problem V2 addresses | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Wine & spirits | Refill and re-label fraud | Provable bottle history from cellar to shelf |
| Pharma & medical | Serialization gaps and record tampering | Append-only audit trail for compliance |
| Electronics & spares | Grey-market diversion | Traceable unit journey across channels |
| Supply chain | Opaque hand-offs | Shared, tamper-evident custody log |
See it on a real unit
The platform is most useful when paired with a physical mark. A holographic or VOID label carrying a serialized QR ties each product to its immutable record in one scan.
